Lowestoft Naval Memorial Panel 4, Column 3. Son of Robert and Jane Reid Findlay (nee Simpson); husband of Isabella Margaret Findlay, of Rutherglen, Lanarkshire.

McArthur, Robert Hird, born 27/07/1909 Dundee , HMS Glorious, Leading Stoker, Service No. D/KX79795. Sunk by gunfire from German battlecruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau while evacuating aircraft from Norway on 8/6/1940. Plymouth Naval Memorial Panel 40, Column 3. Son of Mr. Arthur Gordon McArthur (Mother was Jessie Coull McArthur died 16/10/1917, West St. Johnshaven) Husband of Florence McArthur of Plymouth.

Son of David Gigg & Margaret Main Souter (nee Wood), Mid Street, Johnshaven. Husband of Williamina Findlay Souter, of Dundee.

Young, Thomas George, born 30/9/1895, Fore Street, Johnshaven, Merchant Navy, SS Empire Mermaid, Chief Officer. SS Empire Mermaid' (638t) cargo ship, Portland, Maine. USA to Hull was damaged by a Focke-Wulf Condor aircraft, NW of the Hebrides on 27/3/1941 and sank on the 28th . Twenty-three of her crew were lost. Tower Hill Memorial Panel 43. Son of Archibald & Susan Young of Johnshaven, husband of Mary Young (nee Macdonald) of Aberdeen.
