Charles Robert Willox Pte S/43090 2nd Gordon Highlanders Maryculter 02/08/1897 Ellon Age 19 Killed in Action F & F 05-Sep-16 Eldest son of Mr & Mrs George Willox, Labourer, Denside, Durris. 1913-14 Valuation Roll. Grandson of Mrs McLennan, Blackhall, Banchory, Kincardineshire. Killed in Action during the attack on Ginchy. Formed up in Stout Trench and ZZ Trench. Employed as a farm servant in Ellon.
Photo taken 2000 & 2001 2003 Nov. & 2006 Nov.

The photo is taken at Delville Wood Cemetery near to where Charles died. He has no known grave but this unknown Gordon Highlander maybe where he lies. |
