High Carntyne Church, 358 Carntynehall Road, Glasgow G32 6LW

OS Grid Ref: NS 636653

The first services were held in a hut (a fairly ambitious ‘hut’) which had been erected by the Boys’ Brigade and the use of which had been offered by them to the new congregation. The church was opened in 1932 and on 21st June 1933 the minister was formally inducted, the congregation being raised to full status in May of the following year. This was High Carntyne Parish Church quoad sacra. The suite of halls was opened for use in 1951.
It is claimed this was the first Church Extension charge to be erected in the lifetime of the reunited Church of Scotland, having been put in hand by the U F Presbytery some time before the Union.

The Lee-on-Solent CWGC memorial is for the Fleet Air Arm.

H.M.S. Nabstock was a Royal Navy Mobile Naval Operating Air Base (MONAB) at the Royal Australian Air Force base RAAF Schofields in New South Wales. It had been known as HMS Nabthorpe during the war as MONAB III and became HMS Nabstock (MONAB IV) on 15th November 1945. It was also known as RNAS Schofields.
