A retired lady called Margaret Thorburn, originally from Glamis, has researched the men on the Glamis memorial and made a 120 page folder on the casualties listed.
This work has been presented to the Angus Folk Museum, with a summary copy presented to the Black Watch museum at Balhousie Castle.

Derek.

I have been incontact with Major (rtd) Ronnie Proctor of the BW Museum to see if he can persuade Margaret Thorburn to have the loose leaf book published as a book either in conjunction with the NTS as Glamis Folk Museum are taking care of the booklet or in conjunction with another organisation such as maybe the Tay Valley Family History Society or the Scottish Genealogy Society etc as the book would be circulated instead of being held at the Angus Folk Museum in Glamis which is a seasonal location of the NTS and the Black Watch Museum is at present closed for the new extention at Perth .

See what he reports back

A couple of items from the London Gazette
7 May 1943
Warrant Officer 1365211 Alexander Watson FARQUHARSON,
D.F.M. was appointed Pilot Officer (142875). 20th Feb. 1943.

and 5 Feb 1943 (award of DFM)

1365211 Flight Sergeant Alexander Watson
FARQUHARSON, No. 46 Squadron.
In December, 1942, Flight Sergeant Farquharson was the observer in one of a formation of aircraft detailed to make a low level attack on enemy shipping off the coast'of Tripoli. Following the operation an attack was made by enemy fighters and Flight Sergeant Farquharson received a wound in the shoulder. A running fight continued for 20 minutes. The cool, explicit instructions for evasive action given by this airman enabled him to damage and probably destroy one of the attackers and at the same time greatly assisted his pilot in flying the aircraft safely back to base. At all times this airman has displayed keenness and a high order of devotion to duty.
