PERTH RESERVIST KILLED.
Information has been received in Perth that Private John Drummond, of the 1st Battalion of the Black Watch, was killed in action on 15th September.

Deceased was in the reserves when he was called to the colours. He was six years in India, and was discharged into the reserves about eighteen months ago. He was among the first contingent to leave for abroad.

Word has also been received that Private Charles Fisken, reservist in the 1st Battalion the Buffs (East Kents), who is also a native of the city, has been wounded.

"Information has been received in Perth that Mr John H. Greig, son of a former well known citizen, Mr Hunter Greig, has been killed in action in India. Deceased was a second Lieutenant in the 25th cavalry frontier force, and formerly of the Chartered Bank, India. It was while quelling a lascar rising that he met his death. While resident in Perth the deceased was a well known athlete, and played for the Perthshire Rugby Football Club."

"The relatives of Trooper John Cameron, Scottish Horse, who resided in Beaton's Buildings, Tulloch, Perth, and was employed with Messrs J. Pullar and Sons (Limited) have received information that Cameron had accidentally met his death during training at Crestwell, Northumberland. Trooper Cameron leaves a young widow and child."

"The deaths of two Perth soldiers were officially notified on Saturday - Sergeant James Ferguson of the Royal Engineers.... Sergeant Ferguson, who was killed on April 10, Spent 15 years in the Engineers. He is survived by a widow and three children, who reside at 80 Pomarium Street."

Not listed in the Golden Book unfortunately. His name is currently incorrectly recorded as James on CWGC and SNWM, the correction to amend the CWGC entry is in the system.

"The deaths of two Perth soldiers were officially notified on Saturday... Private Charles Fisken, of the East Kent (the Buffs) Regiment. Private Fisken was 34 years of age, and leaves a widow and two children. As a Reservist he was in France shortly after the outbreak of war. In October he was severely wounded at Armentieres, and after treatment in France was invalided home. After some regimental service in England he returned to the front in February, where he was killed on April 3. Prior to the war Fisken was connected the "Perthshire Advertiser"."

"Official intimation was received in Perth yesterday of the death in action on March 13 of Private William McEwen, 2nd Gordons, McEwen enlisted when 16 years of age in the Camerons, and was eight years in the Reserve. Although his time had expired, he joined the Gordons at the outbreak of the war and proceeded to the front in November. Prior to the war McEwen, who was 30 years of age, was employed as a farm servant."

"Information was received in Perth during the week end that two Canadian soldiers, natives of the City, has fallen in action. Private Robert Lindsay and Lance-Corporal Wm. Drummond are the two heroes in question. Lindsay emigrated to Canada fully three years ago, and at the outbreak of war joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force.He was well known in cricketing circles in Perth, being a member of the well known junior club Mayfield. Drummond, who was fully thirty years of age, was attached to the 1st Brigade British Columbia Regiment. He enlisted at the outbreak of war, and was at one time a member of the old 3rd Company Boys Brigade, Perth. He served through the South African campaign and took part in quelling the Zulu rebellion."
