Located within New Kilpatrick Parish Church, 28 Kirk Place, Bearsden, Glasgow G61 3RT

The window was donated by Mrs Currie in memory of her son Gilbert H. Currie DCM who was killed in action 1916. A second son Allan P. Currie wounded in 1914/18 was killed in 1944. The window was designed by Robert Anning Bell. The painting of this window is probably the work of William stewart the head of the glass staining division of J & W Guthrie & A Wells.

Were the brothers twins? By my reckoning they were both born in 1895

in the 1901 census, Gilbert's age is given as 5 and Allan as 6, so not twins then.

Allan Peter Currie was awarded his MC in WW1

The citation for his Military Cross from L/Gazette 19/4/1918 page 4865

2nd/Lt. Allan Peter Currie, High. L.I.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Seeing a wounded man within fifty yards of the enemy's position he crawled out in daylight and, in spite of sniping and machine-gun fire, succeeded in bringing the wounded man safely back to our lines. On all other occasions this officer has displayed great gallantry.
