I have been hunting down these plaques for some time and delighted to have found them.
The Great War plaque was originally located at the DHQ, South Street, Perth but was taken to the new offices at Ardchoille, Bridgend sometime in the 1950's. It was rededicated at the time the Second World War plaque was unveiled.
However I had never seen the plaques at the new DHQ, Barrack Street, Perth and NO-ONE that I spoke to, including retired officers, remembered them either. For a time it was feared they had been lost in transit.
However I discovered them erected at about thigh height on a brick wall between the main glass doors. They were hidden behind tables, old notice boards and other items of office furniture.

Mark

I’m glad to see your perseverance paid off. It must have been frustrating to have come across so many dead ends before finding them.

Regards

Adam

Adam,

Yes I had been down quite a few roads before locating them. I'd even mentioned a subscription to have replacements made, if it had come to that.
Like other pieces of research - I went all round the world just to end up back at the front door - so to speak Confused

PERTHSHIRE ADVERTISER: 12.10.1955
County Police Memorial is Unveiled

Past and present members of Perth and County Constabulary yesterday attended the unveiling and dedication of bronze commemorative plaques to those of their comrades who fell in the two world wars.
Originallly unveiled in August 1921, by Col. D.M. Smythe of Methven, that part of the plaque which bears the names of those who died in the 1914-18 War was recently moved from outside the former County Police Headquarters in South Street to the new Headquarters at Ardchoille, Bridgend.
The plaque has now been place in the entrance hall to Ardchoille and a new portion, completely harmonising with the original, has now been added. The inscription on the new tablet, immediately below the words 'Their Name Liveth Forevermore' reads:- 'And in memory of John Wood, Cpl. 5/7 Gordon Hrs. who fell in the World War, 1939-1945'. The original plaque bears six names.
Yesterdays simple but impressive service of dedication was conducted by the Rev. A.S. Hutchison, Errol, who is moderator of Perth Presbytery, and the memorial was unveiled by Inspector Sydney Fender, Pitlochry, chairman of the Police Joint Branch Board.
Former members of the Force who attended the ceremony included ex-Inspectors John Reid and Alex. Cameron, and ex-Sgts. Thomas Cahill and James Kinloch.
The new tablet was subscribed to by members of the Force throughout the county, and executed by the Perth firm of Messrs Christie, sculptors, York Place, principal of whom, ex-Baillie Alf. Christie, was present at the unveiling.
