The crest on the left is Glasgow University and Robert's biography is at
http://www.universitystory.gla.ac.uk/ww1-biography/?id=4010

I think the middle one is Church of Scotland but the one on the right?????

Ain't the internet wonderful: "On 11 May 1914 a formal grant of arms to Nyasaland was made. This comprised a leopard with a rising sun reflected against a black background."

The biog. on the university site refers to "He entered Hillhead High School in 1898, going two years later to Morrison's Academy Crieff, where he became Dux of School in 1901."

He is listed on the Hillhead School Memorial but I don't know if Morrison's Academy has a Memorial. He is of course on the Ministers' Memorial in St.Giles, Edinburgh.

It has a memorial hall which includes a Douglas Strachan stained glass window but we don't have it on the forum yet.
