Could it be this Archibald Brown? He was "executed for desertion" according to the War Return aged 28 whilst in Salonica.

Another entry I can't locate. The "Rifleman" makes me think that this man might not be Royal Scots. The only Scots regiment where Rifleman was used as a rank was the Cameronians, and (I believe) not in the First World War.
