The Armed Forces Memorial dominates the site of the National Memorial Arboretum, as well it should. It's a fantastic memorial, dedicate to all armed forces servicemen and women killed on duty or through terrorist action since the Second World War.
The memorial was officially dedicated on the 12th October 2007 in a service attended by Queen Elizabeth II, then Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the Archbishop of Canterbury. It then opened to the public on the 29th October.
The architect was Liam O'Connor, and the sculptures are by Ian Rank-Broadley.
Photos really do not do this memorial justice. You have to view to appreciate it properly.

This is an interesting feature. I would be interested to be there to see it on the 11th November.

I did not have time to photograph every name on this memorial - that would have taken all day.
The following three photos are two which were requested and one because I recognised a name, that of Gordon Gentle of the Royal Highland Fusiliers.
