I'm no expert but I think that this plaque could hold some extra significance.
My attention was drawn to Leslie Richmond Snr's date of death (23rd August 1914) - which is very early.
I looked upa thread on the GWF, First & Last, which included this;

Now the very first BEF officer (according to the late Rose Coombs) killed at the Battle of Mons is Major William Henry ABELL of the 4/Middlesex, killed on 23rd Aug 1914 age 40 and buried in 2 A 1 in St Symphorien M/C

This may be common knowledge amongst military experts but Leslie Richmond must be one of the first 'Scottish' Officers killed surely?
Anybody got any info. on this?

Looking up 23rd August on the SNWM gives the following names. There are four Gordons but Leslie Richmond has the date of 26th August so is not included. I assume the CWGC date is correct.
