Ah! You found it pretty quickly after the recent discussion of it Anne.
A very handsome memorial I'd say.

Yes, it's a really nice memorial.

Unfortunately, it's up quite high on the wall, there are no windows to allow any natural light and I had to use the zoom.

Good to have solved another wee mystery though.

Nice memorial. Wonder if some served under different names. Tried one or two of the more unusual surnames without success.

I think you're right Mark.

I tried a few as well and got no results.

Makes life a bit difficult - where and how would we find out?

What joy to find the men commemorated on this memorial - never thought about looking at "Church Memorials"!
Here are basic details for some of the men. I had taken names from the British Jewry Book of Honour, then divided them into two lists, one with Scottish addresses and one with Scottish regiments but non Scottish addresses. There are errors in the Book and I have found some of the regiments on the memorial are not the same as in the Book so haven't posted these. In some cases it's Royal Scots v Royal Scots Fusiliers. Let me know if you want me to post anyway.

Scottish addresses

RF for RSF and vice versa is a not uncommon mistake in rolls of honour and the like.

Go ahead and post them please.

As he died at sea, I looked to see what happened on 26 February 1918 and came across an interesting article which also names Alexander Abrahamson on its Roll of Honour.
HMHS Glenart Castle left Newport(Wales) on its way to Brest to pick up more wounded. The ship was torpedoed and went down near Lundy with about 155 lives lost. A memorial to the men and women was dedicated on 26 February 2002 at Hartland Point, Devon.
