Penicuik Co-operative Association Ltd Great War memorial.
A brass plaque listing the names of 12 men who had an association with the Penicuik Co-operative Association and who died in the Great War.
The plaque was thankfully salvaged before it was scrapped a few years back and now resides safely in a private residence in the Borders.

Well done for whoever saved it and well done Derek for tracking it down, photographing and posting it for posterity.
I could not find it on UKNIWM so presume it is unlisted. |

Spoons,
The phrase "Grateful remembrance" obviously only lasted one generation before the plaque was torn down and only saved from the smelter by a faithful guardian. _________________ There must be a place under the sun where hearts of olden glory grow young ..... |

How many have been lost in other parts of Scotland? Thank goodness for this Border's collector.
