Ive been in contact with the Wishaw Press who kindly gave me the contact details for JOE ORAW who has recently published the book on the CRAIGNEUK WAR MEMORIAL . I contacted Joe and hes now taking orders for the next set of print of the publication as the publisher only takes orders for over 10 or more it seems .

Seems that Joe has been researching and Publishing books on war memorials in and around Lanarkshire for 30 years and he's involved now in researching the Hamilton war dead for a book due out next year I think he said .. His previous books on war memorials in churches and towns are now out of print but Ive told Joe about this website to get further publicity as I am sure members may be interested in getting copies of them

Just received from Joe O'Raw the excellent book on the Great War , WW2 with others in Egypt 1952 & Northern Ireland 1969-1998 Craigneuk District fallen .

Also many interesting photos and detailed write ups on casualties in the 139 pages of this publication on Craigneuk

Joe has remembered the heroes who died and served in these war years too in the pages of his new book .

A book well worth buying

The email contact address for Joe O'Raw is

email : joeoraw31@hotmail.com

This book mentioned earlier is £5.50 with costs for postage only and is well worth the money and I am sure that Joe has remembered the dead of these wars and campaigns of the 20th Century so that these young lads will not be forgotten

I'll be honest, having read several of Joe's books, I won't be making a purchase.

I'm sure there's a lot of work put into them, but knowing some of the areas he's written about, there's a lot of research material out there he hasn't used, and it disappoints me that there hasn't been that effort to go the "extra mile".
