A memorial to three civilians who died as a result of an enemy bombing raid was unveiled recently in Portknockie.

Article

Members of a quiet Moray fishing village gathered yesterday to reflect on a tragic World War II bombing raid which killed three people.

A dedication service was held at Portknockie in memory of James Mair, Margaret Ann Mair and Annie Mair Mackay, all of whom lost their lives on February 19, 1941, as well those who suffered as a result of the attack.

A stone memorial and plaque bearing the names of the three victims was unveiled at the event, organised by the Cullen, Deskford and Portknockie Heritage group.
