Spoons
I don't know who is responsible but the figure bears more than a passing resemblance to the scowling figure on Holytown's war memorial in Lanarkshire.
One's a highlander and the other a lowlander but the head, hands and stance are all very similar.

Adam both memorials were by Messrs. Scott & Rae of Glasgow, the Kirkconnel monument being the first.
The Scott & Rae Daybook has the entry:

this memorial was vandalised in November 2011 and cleaned and restored immediately after. A man goes on trial this week.
