Anne

You need to do a wee bit more to provide official evidence of a CWGC non comm. The Morayshire Roll of Honour details alone are not acceptable, as some will certainly be listed whose death had no conection to war service.

I suspect this could be a valid non comm but you will need to obtain the Death Certificate ( record from Scotland's People site will suffice if he died here ) details so I can check it out further. I have some service details which show he was discharged at London to reside at a London address in April 1916. He was medically unfit due to TB of lung. However that may not be the cause of his death - he may have been electocuted, in which case he did not die of service related causes.

If you get the DC and it confirms a valid case I can get the payment refunded.

Anne

Delboy has kindly supplied the DC for Younie which supports the discharge details.
Do you want me to forward him on your behalf?

Thanks for the update..... James Younie Cpl 9057 2nd Scots Guards born Kinloss 05/03/1887 enlisted Caterham Age 31 Died Elgin 16-Aug-18 Son of James Younie, Policeman & Jane Grant, 50 Main St; New Elgin. 1891 Census: 68 King Street, Duffus. B Findhorn. 1901 Census: New Elgin, Main Rd: Elgin. Occ: Law Clerk. Morayshire Roll of Honour: Page 481: Occ Paymaster of T S Empress. MI NE (E)466. Brother Alexander also died. New Elgin Courant 23-8-18 1/1 Elgin New Elgin & West End Primary
I checked on the 1901 Census and there is not father then on the Libindx and found James Snr died in 1895. Age 37. One thing on the 1901 Census it says Alexander is aged one which does not fit just another thing to check.
