Actually about 15 miles from Dunoon but it is on a dead end rd and you have to go through Dunoon.

The parish ch of Inverchaolain is at grid ref 091 753 on my old 1" OS map.

There is a badly weathered WM in the ch yard. I recorded the names with some dificulty into my dictaphone. Reasonably accurate, though:

"1914-19I9 to the glorious dead of Inverchaolain parish

James Muir Black, Lt, R/Scots 1897-1916
Alexander Banks McPhail, MC, Capt RGA 1896-1918
Archibald Neil McNichol, pte Tank Corps 1891-1918
Matthew Tarbert, Stoker, RN 1895-14
Duncan Campbell of South Hall, Capt, Ryl Hders 1880-15
Arthur Wilfred Lowcock Lt Cdr RNVR 1890-1918
Edward Kimmett MM RGA 1877-1918
John William MacDonald Sgt A & S 1892-1917
James Skelton Anderson, 2nd Lt, KRRC 1897-1916
Kenneth Angus Anderson, Cadet, RN 1898-1914
David Crawford Clarke Cpt A & S 1894-1917
John Drysdale Pte, A & S 1894-1916.

Inside the church is a plaque dedicated to the men of Inellan, Toward and Loch Scriven and the names are shown on the photo of Inellan WM.
