The Northern Lighthouse Board website for Fair Isle south Lighthouse covers the Enemy action of WW2 and the deaths from these actions of 1941 and 1942

The Lighthouse was the last to be automated in recent years it seems and Ive found that the lighthouse is now a Bed & Breakfast location with its own website .

The NLB website on the Fair Isle lighthouse records this :

"Plaque in memory of the War Dead was erected by the NORTHERN LIGHTHOUSE BOARD and SCOTLANDS LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM on the Boundary wall of the Station in MARCH , 1998."
