Battlefield East Parish Church (Now Clincarthill Parish Church), 1220 Cathcart Road, Glasgow G42 9EU .

OS Grid Ref: NS 585612

Extract from local newspaper:-
“On Thursday 27 May 2010, two church congregations will be merging together, as one minister retires and the other takes charge.
After 33 years as minister of Battlefield East church, the Rev Alan Raeburn will take his final service on June 13. On the same day, Mount Florida church will host its last service.
It will then join Battlefield East to become Clincarthill church under the leadership of the Rev Mike Gargrave. The service of union will take place on Wednesday, June 16 at 7pm.
Clincarthill is the name of the historic hill both churches are on — which is why the name was chosen.”

The WW1 memorial consists of a stained glass window, a brass tablet, a book of remembrance and a photographic record of each soldier.

Please note that all War Memorials previously belonging to Battlefield East Parish Church, Langside Hill Parish Church and Mount Florida Parish Church are no longer on display. In 2013 a new War Memorial was inaugurated combining the names of the fallen from the former churches of Battlefield East, Langside Hill & Mount Florida. This new memorial is displayed in the Prayer Room within the sanctuary. The redundant war memorials have been kept and the intention is to display them in a Memorabilia area at some future date.
