As part of Perth's city remodeling with the planned destruction of the City hall this press article mentions the relocation of a war memorial to beside St John's Kirk.
Anyone able to identify which memorial this would be? Aren't the Perth and church memorials all inside the building?

(from article)
"...A site near the kirk has been pinpointed to re-locate the war memorial."

Article

Derek.

I think they will be referring to the King Edward VII Memorial outside the St. John's Shopping Centre. This is always referred to it as a war memorial, why - I dont know, and I believe that wreaths are laid there on Remembrance Day.
The memorial was built in 1913, by Alexander K. Beaton, a free re-creation of the city's former mercat cross.

I notice that St Columba's church, Crieff has missing name plaques which used to be in the previous church. I have now found out that there is another memorial which appears to be missing.

The Edinburgh Evening News of Wednesday 21st October 1903 reported that a mural brass plaque was unveiled in memory of those lost in the Boer war. I do not have details of the article.

Perhaps an appeal for information in the press might come up with something? Is this is anyone's back yard?

I know we have this Korean memorial in Perth http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=2315 but I was reading recently about a Korean 'Pagoda' memorial in Perth that was dedicated in 2003. I cannot see this on the forum, do we have it? Or any details?
