I will be giving a talk on Monday 5th December for Aberdeen & North East Scotland Family History Society.
This is being done as a course for beginners and so hopefully it will mean that more info comes from the new members and that I can let them know about The Scottish War Memorials Project.

I have given talks to retirement groups, local heritage groups, primary and secondary school groups, Royal British Legion, Family History Society and WRI. I like to keep it light, tell a few odd and unexpected stories and leave them wanting more. Never done a Rotary or a Probus group but I have a talk with a local antiquarian society lined up for next season.

I have some notes and partial scripts somewhere which I would be happy to send to anyone who sends me a PM. Adam also published an item of mine on the SMRG Blog about preparing a Remembrance Day Talk.

I turned up early fired up the computer and opened up several sites which would help with research.
One early bird managed to get a look on Ancestry but no luck in finding the info she hoped to find maybe with more time she might be lucky.
I talked for the hour no bother and asked if the were Any Questions only one spoke up and wanted to know about Macduff so closed down the talk and opened the database and did a lookup.... the mannie was there so that was good... just wanted to get more info if possible.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the talk....
Just time to pack up all the info I'd taken with me.
