would I be overstating the issue if I described this as an outstanding example of its kind?

Walter Gerald Pringle was a scion of the distinguished Scottish commercial entity 'Robert Pringle & Son', which later became the knitwear giants of "Pringles of Scotland"......
before the name was bought out with the loss of hundreds of Scottish jobs and transferred to Hong Kong Mad
Walter was the only son of Robert Pringle and was heir to the family firm.

The family certainly had plenty of money and Newbury Abbot Trent, the sculpture of Gerald's bronze, did them proud.

Newbury A.Trent
