UKNIWM: unlisted
OS MAP REF: 5961

Located in Hampden Stadium, Glasgow it list the names of those who served in WW1 as well as those who perished from the members of Queens Park Football Club.

Unveiled on the 2nd of January 1922 by Major-General Sir Philip R. Robertson K.C.B. C.M.G.
The 29 who died as a result of war service are named below.

"Lance Corporal Edwin S. Garvie, 5th Battalion (Lochiel's) Camerons, died a prisoner of war in Germany from wounds sustained in action in France. He was 23 years of age and was son of the late Mr J.D. Garvie, Invergower, Maxwell Park. In civil life he was a member of the staff of messrs J.B. Shanks & co. of 46 Gordon Street. About a year ago he joined the stock exchange company of Lochiel's Camerons. Lance-Corporal Garvie was a football player of supreme ability, and played for Queen's Park for about four years."

R . S. MCCOLL

Robert Smyth McColl (13 April 1876–1959). started his career at Queen's Park F.C. in 1894. He later played for Newcastle United F.C.. McColl is now better known for lending his name to the newsagent chain RS McColl, which he set up in 1901 with his brother Tom
