In researching the Arthurlie Parish church WW1 Memorial, I came across Sgt Archibald Kirkwood RFA.
I can not find him on either CWGC or SNWM.
Subsequent info.- 6508, Archibald Kirkwood, born Govan, Lanark. Enlisted RFA Sept 1914.
He was discharged in 1916, unfit due to heart condition not caused, but aggravated by military service. He died 21 October 1918.
He is possibly a non-comm, I have sent details to kinnethmont.

John

I am looking into this one and believe a case can be made linking his cause of death and related details in his medical record

Derek

The cause given was Cardiac Valvular Disease ( duration unknown ) and Influenza (6 days) but the reason for his discharge was another heart related condition. I would have preferred that the period was defined back to his service period.

" Hearing condition " above is a typo which John will correct

6508 Sgt. Archibald McAuslin Kirkwood, 5 C Res. Bde, Royal Field Artillery has been forwarded as a case, on John's behalf, to MOD / CWGC as a post discharge service related death non comm ( Heart disease condition). His details are now in the system.

I am interested in any details of a burial location. Will update when further details available.

Well done John in finding him.
