After the merger of several city centre churches, St. Paul's Church became the host for the war memorials from each relevant congregation. In the mid 1980's the memorials were apparently removed into storage of the city archivist. Photographs of the memorials were taken and a memorial book, kept on a lecturn within the church and bearing the names of the fallen, was produced;
