Very interesting.
I tried to get into Glamis Parish Church, late summer, and despite saying it was open during daylight hours - guess what?......
Apparently the church also has;
UKNIWM Ref: 5674
IN MEMORY OF LIEUT. JOHN TANNOCH WADDELL OF THE 48TH (?) REGT. WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON NOV. 9TH 1897 AT SARAN-SAR INDIA. |

I 'think' the cross is a representation of the carved relief on the circa 8th c. Pictish cross-slab located in the front garden of the old manse opposite the church. |
