The below mentioned Soldiers were named in "The Journal of Private Fraser",page 167.

" There was much evidence of the fight that took place last February,when the enemy captured the International
Trench, but were driven back a few weeks later.In the counter-attack, the British entrenched themselves in a
new line about fifty yards ahead of the International Trench, which received its name on account of it having
changed hands so often. The International Trench was almost levelled to the ground. In parts it appeared to
have been blown in on the German occupants.The ground in the vicinity was pitted with shell holes, betoken
-ing much strife, while graves in ones and twos dotted the landscape. The crosses were, however, almost
rotten, and the inscriptions scarcely legible. It is one place the Graves Commission should visit, if they want
to keep the graves from being lost sight of. At the back of the front line, within two yards of a dug-out, was
a wooden cross with the inscription thereon: " James Young, 1st Gordon Highlanders, Mar.3/16, killed in
action." The Gordons, as usual, seem to be in every fight that is happening, and their slain always appear in
the van. Another Gordon, Glen Dey, by name, is buried in the parapet of "Lovers Lane" the communication
trench between the front and support lines. G.Dunne, a third Gordon Highlander, is interred at the bottom
of "The Drive." Behind a sentry post, near the southern end of the support line, were a couple of crosses in
memory of L/Cpl.Etheridge and Pte. Deverall of the 13th Canadian Battalion. Behind the supports were
numerous graves. One contained the bodies of 18 soldiers. Several had the familiar notice " Unknown
British Soldier " buried here."

However he is not named on this memorial.
He is named on the Cowie War Memorial.
