I was reading the Cupar transcription and see that these two female casualties had been posted in this thread already, but I can't see them on CWGC or SNWM. Has anyone info on these two WW2 women?

Smith is on CWGC and SNWM. H.M.S. Pyramus was the RN Base at Kirkwall, she was killed in a flying accident, at sea.
I suspect Helen Milne may have been a civilian nurse and so not qualify for war dead status. Local press might provide more info.

Tony
I think a mix up between WW1 & WW2 would be highly unlikely at Cupar and this is not the same woman.
Cupar is a long way from Stonehaven. Local news papers might provide the answer. _________________ Jim

There's also a Janet F. Pattie listed on Kirkintilloch war memorial.
It's odd that she was listed under her maiden name of Pattie (CWGC have the parents surname wrong as I have checked her Death Cert).
Name: LITHGOW, JANET FULTON SNEDDON

This lady lead me a merry dance trying to find her in Auld Aisle Cemetery!
On the stone she is listed as 'Jenny, beloved wife of Andrew C. Lithgow and daughter of Robert & Janet Pattie (nee Sneddon)'.
Also, her parents are listed on CWGC as Pattis!!

If she died in Scotland, can you send me on the DC.
The memorial is also in error if she was married. _________________ Jim
