I'm sure this is explained elsewhere, but I cannot find it.
Are we using the 1891 - 1975 county and parish list for memorials?

The various War Memorial Commitees used the Established Church Parishes existing at the time and this will not have changed from the Great War period apart from some Parishes being joined or amalgamated with a neighbouring one.
The Counties used are the orginal ones, which I think ties with the pre 1975 regional council ones. _________________ Jim

Cheers Adam, that was what i was looking for.
What about when a parish has been renamed or merged since the time of the memorials creation, should it still be under the original title?

Derek
Generally the parish concerned is detailed on the war memorial. I asked this question long time ago and the result was the WW1 period parishes were to be used. As it happens, this is how they are recorded by UKNIWM. _________________ Jim
