I have several names, listed on a War Memorial in a Coatbridge Church , and I cannot find any reference to them on CWGC or SNWM.

Two of the names are John Dallas and Colin McPherson. Thats all I know....no Regiment or any other details. I know its a long shot but can anyone give me any help, advice or suggestions. Anything would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.
Morag

Thanks to all for this information.
What I need to do now is look for a connection with Coatbridge. That might prove "fun".
I do appreciate all this help.
Many thanks
Morag.

SNWM have this wrong. He is 466084 George McPherson born Wigan, Lancashire. I assume one of his parents was Scots.

Thanks Jim. Thats one less to check.
I am getting cross eyed looking at records and still haven't found a connection to Coatbridge. I'll keep looking!

Regards.

There were 2 John Dallas born in Coatbridge that may be on the memorial; one in 1881 the other in 1930 (much less likely). There is also a Service return for a John Dallas born in 1881 - he appears to have died in 1917. Got this from SP; I don't have any credits to check further.

There was no-one named Colin McPherson born in Coatbridge between 1865 and 1930. The only Service Return that I could find died in 1896. Not much help, I'm afraid.
