Name: TODD
Initials: S
Nationality: Canadian
Rank: Gunner
Regiment/Service: Canadian Garrison Artillery
Unit Text: 1st Bty.
Age: 32
Date of Death: 09/08/1917
Service No: 303022
Additional information: Son of Samuel Todd; husband of Mary Mitchell (formerly Todd), of Upper Lochardwood, Ruthwell, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: III. E. 14.
Cemetery: BULLY-GRENAY COMMUNAL CEMETERY, BRITISH EXTENSION

His attestation papers show his unit intially as Siege Artillery Does this explain the initials on the memorial?
He was born in Larne, Ireland but gives his father as next of kin at Auchentibbert Farm - just to the north of Ardwell.
