Just recently I discovered that there was a Free Church at Dalguise, just north-west of Dunkeld; and that the Great War Plaque was stored in the Little Dunkeld Church at Birnam. The Free Church still stands and is now used as self-catering holiday accomodation. The Free Church sits on a ledge on a hillside at Dalguise. It never ceases to amaze me where these buildings were erected;

This memorial was originally in the Dunkeld United Free Church and was moved to Dalguise after its closure;


PERTHSHIRE ADVERTISER: 10.12.1919

DUNKELD

WAR MEMORIAL


In the U.F. Church, Dunkeld, a memorial brass has been erected to the memory of the men connected with the congregation who sacrificed their lives during the Great War. The names are:-

Hunter Jackson Anderson, Donald Campbell, Robert Henderson, Alexander M’Dougall, George Ross M’Intosh, John M’Rostie, Robert Robertson, James Low Scott, Daniel Sim, and Atholl Stewart.

Then follow the names of 37 men connected with the congregation who fought in the war.
