The council boundaries up there are a bit of a mystery to me Jim.
I only just understand the bits of the defunct Kincardinshire that were spilt up between Aberdeensire and Angus.

Derek

Similar things happened here, complicated by parts of some of the former parishes being in both Aberdeenshire and Banffshire at the same time.
Craziest of all is that the the County town of Banff is now in Aberdeenshire. There is still in place a Lord Lieutenant for Banffshire.

You will probably know that Kincardineshire signs have been erected on the old Kincardine border on the main roads. The same happened due to " people power " for Banffshire around two years ago. The " unelected officials " were opposed but the elected councillors paid heed to the natives.

There's a memorial sundial at Lossiemouth Golf Cluv we don't yet have recorded.

There's a link to some great photos on this thread: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/243122-memorial-sundial-moray-golf-club-lossiemouth/
