I hope I'm not boring everyone! But I thought I'd post this, its two chapters from the introductory course book for the Open Universities' A103 Course which is an introduction to the Humanities ( its a great course if anyone's interested ). These are long chapters but I thought it was worth posting anyway as its a very interesting introduction to the whole idea of war memorials and I would hope it would be of use to anyone interested in, or doing a project in war memorials. After all the idea is for this site to be a useful resource. I've put the photographs mentioned at the very bottom of the posting. Anyway enjoy

I've printed it off so I can have a quiet read when I can't get to a computer - how sad is that |

I read this article during a short hospital stay recently. Excellent it is too.
I was really surprised to see memorials in Lavendon and, most of all, Olney featured. Until the end of November I visited Northampton weekly and stayed overnight in Olney every week. I probably know this better than any other memorial. |
