PERTHSHIRE ADVERTISER: 17.11.1920
LOGIEALMOND
WAR MEMORIAL UNVEILED
A war memorial in memory of the men of Logiealmond, Glenalmond and district who fell in the war was unveiled at Logiealmond on Sunday afternoon by the Countess of Mansfield in presence of a large gathering. The Earl of Mansfield presided, and Revs. Jas Grieve and J. E. McQuat conducted a brief religious service, while the Glenalmond College Pipe Band and bugler rendered “The Flowers of the Forest” and “The Last Post”. The memorial is a granite monolith, roughly hewn, with carved Celtic cross and bronze tablet bearing 19 names and inscription, erected to the plans of Messrs Mills & Shepherd, Dundee. The memorial was afterwards formally taken over by the Parish Council. |
