UKNIWM Ref 44161/2

Located in Kirkpatrick Fleming parish church at OS Map Ref NY 277 701

The memorial consists of the communion table with plaques set into the top, a chair and communion service. When I visited, the communion service was not available to be seen and I could not identify which of the chairs was part of the memorial. Confusingly UKNIWM lists all of this as 44161 but the WW2 plaque is listed as 44162 - I think this is irrational and should be listed as a single memorial so will write to them to see if it can be changed.

The UKNIWM also refers to a Roll of Honour which I believe should be a separate listing so I will post separately and inform UKNIWM accordingly.

Very odd for the inscription to be on the top of the table, worshippers would not see it in the normal course of events.

WMR (ex UKNIWM) record 44162 has now been deleted, and the two memorials aggregated onto record 44161.

The Roll of Honour is a separate report-64675

All of the men named on the WW1 plaque are also named on the Parish Civic War Memorial except for the last name:

On his service record he gives his address as Stone Park, Langshaw, Ecclefechan and the farm is about half-way between Kirtlebridge and Eaglesfield.
