From The Scotsman 19 April 1920.
WAR MEMORIALS
TULLIBARDINE.— A handsome drinking fountain, erected by the side of the public road near Tullibardine Station, at a cost of £100, was unveiled on Saturday by Sir James Roberts, Bart., of Strathallan Castle, as a memorial of the men of the district who served in the war. There was a large attendance, presided over by the Rev. P. Milne, Blackford. Sir James Roberts paid a tribute to Scottish heroism in the war, which, he said, was generally admitted. The names of all the men in the district who served are inscribed on the fountain, along with the distinctions won. Each of the returned soldiers was presented with a gold memorial badge, and Major Findlay, Machany House, as the oldest soldier in the district, returned thanks. Mr James Maxtone, land steward at Machany, seconded by Mr Robert Guthrie, schoolmaster, accepted the site and water supply for the fountain as a gift to the public by Sir James Roberts.
