A 'unique' memorial. I don't know if the base is original and the top (2000) has been added - or it is all new work. |

This Memorial was erected in situ in the recent years and is excellent .
Listed on the memorial is the name
LIEUTENANT Arthur H A Jacob
He is Lieutenant Arthur Henry Augustus JACOB , 4th Royal Fusiliers aged 20 years died on 16th July 1916 the son of
Major Arthur Otway Jacob and VIOLET AUSTUSTA KENNEDY- ERSKINE , his wife
The Casualty is buried in war grave I A no 36 at Etaples Military Cemetery France.
NOTE : Violet Augusta Kennedy - Erskine was of the family at the House of Dun , by Montrose |

I missed this one being posted first time around. I take it the memorial is in Dun New Churchyard.
Also is that a Gordon Highlander on the artwork? I would have thought Dun fell within the Black Watch recruiting area.
