Most of the non comms that can ever be found relate to WW1. During WW2 things were more organised as far as graves registration, etc was concerned. However, events like the withdrawl of the B.E.F. from France in May / June 1940 made record keeping difficult for those involved.

The man below is recorded as an Overseas Death having died of wounds in France but his details have not been given to CWGC. He is on the SNWM Roll.
If anyone knows anything of him or his family, I would be interested in the details. I understand he resided in Aberdeen, was born at Woodside in 1915 and was with the 5th Battalion.

A case for him is now with M.O.D.

2875645 L/Cpl David Sutherland CRAIGIE

Derek

I didn't actually put this case forward, but was consulted regarding records relating to the death.

Being a Gordon Highlander, he was of further interest to me and I manged to track down his son. Hopefully now that the death is accepted the link can be proved ( not always possible ) between him and the casualty so as to allow CWGC to add to the basic details recorded currently.

David Craige was born at Woodside, Aberdeen in 1915 and resided there at his death. He married in 1935.
