Thanks to Nicola Burnett for photographs.
The memorial is situated on Hairst Street at its junction with Inchinnan Road, Renfrew. It was recently moved to a new position in Hairst Street due to a change in the street

I missed these photographs the first time around. There are tantalising glimpses of the relief carvings. The UKNIWM description doesn't mention them but it looks like a Great War highlander one one panel (probably representing an Argyll) and it looks like a crusader on the other.

Thanks

Adam

For some reason the age for Private Abraham's sister Maggige showed up as a smiley. Her age in 1901 was 8 years. Just to keep the record straight.

I attach photos of the two reliefs on the memorial and a further photo of the whole memorial that shows how it looks in situ now that the sympathetic refurbishment of the surroundings have been completed.

Graeme

Many thanks for posting the photographs of the relief carvings, it's a shame the weather has taken its toll on the sandstone.

Is that a biplane above the highlander?

Kind regards

Adam

A pre-WW2 postcard of it in its previous location.

In the first photo on this thread you can see the right hand side of the tenement block in the postcard.

Unveiled on Saturday the 5th of August 1922.
