D'oh! Wish you'd said. Was up there last weekend.

Does anyone have an OS grid reference for the Mosquito crash site in Glenesk?

Whilst doing some research on Dundee Churches I noted that Albany-Butterburn, Hill Street, Dundee was demolished in 2007 to make way for a private car park! There were several memorials in the church for various congregations over the years. I looked at the online planning application but nothing related to the memorials. I am hoping that they have been removed elsewhere.

As a general point, if it was Church of Scotland, it is the church committee who is responsible for the disposal of everything in the church including the actual church itself so I suggest you try and identify the church officer or parish clerk at the time of disposal - Church of Scotland head office in Edinburgh should be able to give you that info if you cannot find it locally.

Gilfillan memorial church on Whitehall Crescent has a memorial.

(Glasgow Herald 27th March 1922)
"In Gilfillan memorial church a memorial to the members who fell in the war was unveiled by the Rev. William Paxton, a former minister of the congregation."

The article makes no mention of where in Brechin this roll of honour on vellum was located.

Turns out I did have time.

http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/pageturner.cfm?id=87312907

Doesn't list the Brechin address but I wonder if the same roll was made for each of the courts listed?

Regards

Adam

Sorry got my Foresters and Shepherds mixed up

http://digital.nls.uk/directories/browse/pageturner.cfm?id=87312919

Makes you wonder if all these courts, lodges and tents of all these societies had rolls of honour?

Regards

Adam
