UKNIWM Ref no: 8722

The Pluscarden war memorial is a rustic cairn constructed of large roughly hewn boulders. The commemoration and names of the dead are listed in gold lettering on a black marble tableT set into the face of the cairn.
The memorial was unveiled on 27th March 1920 by Mrs. P.C. Oswald of Wester Elchies (Ref. The Northern Scot 25th December 1921).
The memorial stands at the entry to the drive leading to the kirk.

Thanks for the additional info on the post Derek, the website is superb and very moving.
I agree Chris, these are my favourite memorials, simple and in quiet spots were you can still hear yourself think.

I was at Pluscarden Church about 4 hours before Jamie posted!

Anyway, here are my efforts.
