So this can be removed from to do list. |

Funnily enough I was at Cameron Church by chance yesterday evening. It was closed and unfortunately the windows had blinds and I couldn't see in but from what I could see it looked quite a plain church so I'm happy that Mrs Goldsmith didn't find anything.
I did find a Great War CWGC grave and a name of a Second World War casualty on headstone in the churchyard so it looks like the community did lose at least one man from each war.
Cameron is a scattered community but it is not near any other large communities other than nearby St Andrews and it is a parish in its own right. I think we should not rule Cameron out completely yet. There is a village hall too.
When I get a chance I'll get the names from Cameron here to see if we can place them on another memorial.
Thanks

It's very handy! I'd had a quick look before going so I knew that the church was off another road and could look out for the sign on that road.
Cheers

I have photos of the inside of Cameron Parish Church Mrs Aase Goldsmith sent me. I can post them if required. The only memorials are for former Ministers. The only CWGC grave is for Reekie and is already on the Scottish War Graves website. |

No, no need for the other memorials in Cameron Church. I don't think there will be another memorial there. I think it may be worth someone checking out the village hall though.
I didn't realise the Reekie grave was posted. There is another grave, not a CWGC one, which commemorates a Second World War death whcih I will upload as soon as I can
Thanks

I received the following information from Mrs Aase Goldsmith who in turn received it via her vast network of contacts!
"The hall wasn’t built till 1926 (when J.P. (the contact) was 3 years old) – and the hall has no war memorial either. He has no idea where any Cameron casualties might be remembered …
And he confirmed that, the little garden outside the cemetry was his father’s garden, when he was church beadle and lived in the house by the church (now used for children’s playgroup).
He also confirmed that, Cameron was a large parish but not many people live there now – and it is still the biggest Community Council area in Fife. And that only two churches in Scotland have farm names on the pews …! " |

Excellent information John. Perhaps we should rule Cameron out then and accept that some parishes don't have a war memorial.
Thanks to you and to Mrs Goldsmith for taking the time to delve deeper.
Kind regards

The following has a stained glass window war memorial. Thanks to Rev J Hopewell for the information.
St Andrews, Rosyth Naval Dockyard Church.
Googling found this, "On 21 November 1946 a WRNS memorial window was dedicated in St Andrew's Church, Rosyth Dockyard." |

Noticed in an unrelated newspaper article that the Parish and U.F. Churches in Kingskettle, Fife had stained glass windows as Great War Memorials. |
