pte j stewart- regiment unknown died outside europe, my father said iraq, but I Think maybe gallipoli.
he was married (06/02/1903) as john simpson stewart aged 20 (coal miner) from around dalkeith area, married to frances husband (domestic servant)
His parents were john stewart (typefounder) -mother -catherine -nee-mcdonald
his wife parents were james husband ( colliery labourer)- mother -esther husband-nee-byres.
my gran esther byers stewart was born 23/05/1906 at 7 robertson bank dalkeith, midlothian.
I have her birth, marriage and her death certifcates.
on her birth cert it has john simpson stewart as her father.
on her marriage cert (04/12/1925) it has john simpson stewart ((coal miner) deceased.
but on her death cert it has john simpson stewart the royal scots deceased.
