THE SCOTSMAN: 15.05.1925
SCOTTISH WAR MEMORIAL FOR BUENOS AYRES
TO BE UNVEILED BY PRINCE OF WALES
The Scottish War Memorial for the Argentine, which is to be erected in Buenos Ayres, has just been completed in the yard of Sir James Taggart, Great Western Road, Aberdeen. It consists of three large polished panels in Rubislaw granite, divided and surrounded by red polished granite pilasters, and cap and base. The total width is 11 feet, and the height 10 feet 8 inches. The inscription, in gilt letters, contains 547 names - 425 names of those who volunteered, and 122 names of those who made the supreme sacrifice. The memorial, which commemorates service and sacrifice, is to be unveiled by the Prince of Wales on his visit to Buenos Ayres. |

Ada,
Aye, I remember posting that info. I don't think it is the same memorial. The amount of names on St. Andrew's compared with the 'Scots Memorial' don't match.

I think I recall that the St. Andrew's Church memorial was wood whereas this one is granite. _________________ Ken |
