Listed in Perth 'Golden Book'

LOW, JAMES, PTE., ROYAL SCOTS FUS.

I struggled with this casualty until spotting this;

THE PEOPLE'S JOURNAL: 15.11.1919
IN MEMORIUM

LOW - In loving memory of my dear son, Pte. James Low, R.S.F., who died at Greenock Infirmary of pneumonia, 12th Nov., 1918.

Gone, but not forgotten.
He has crossed the dark tide, and reached the far shore,
Where sufferings and sighing tears are no more;
Still one joy remains, though he's now gone to rest,
We will meet him again in the realms of the blest.

- Inserted by his sorrowing mother, brother, and sisters - 2 Bridge Lane, Perth.

I don't see him on CWGC

Mark

Am checking this one out. Can you forward the DC to let me see the missing detail?

Without sight of the certificate but on the basis of typical Labour Corps unit names, it possibly will be Area Employment Company.

Stuart

The DC has 464 (HS) Employment Coy. (HS) = Home Service

225024 Pte. James Fraser Low, 464 (HS) Employment Coy., attd. 3rd Royal Scots Fusiliers has been forwarded as a case, on Mark's behalf, to CWGC / MOD as a non comm death in service ( Influenza & Lobar Pneumonia). His details are now in the system.

I am making further enquiries regarding his place of burial.
Will update when further details available.

Well done Mark in finding him.

Stuart

He should go though ok. The process is often speeded up by the fact the casualty was serving at his death.
His regiment will be shown as Labour Corps attd. R.S.F.

The case for Pte. James F Low, Labour Corps attd. R.S.F. has now been accepted by MOD. His details will be added to the CWGC Debt of Honour Roll in time, after other checks in the process have been completed.

I will post the details when available.

Well done Mark.
