BALLATER CHURCH WAR MEMORIAL

A memorial was unveiled in the Ballater United Free Church last evening, erected to the memory of the members of the congregation who fell in the war. Rev. A. K. Walton, of Claremount United Free Church, Glasgow, a former minister at Ballater, dedicated the memorial, which was unveiled by Mr Edward Coutts, Glengirnaig Post Office, who lost three sons in the war.

In reply to Anne's question "Two men with Ballater which one to put here?" I would imagine it would be John Coutts - son of Edward. We also have Robert Coutts, son of Edward listed and there should be a third son of Edward ?

I agree with John ( 267978 Black Watch) being the man.

The third brother is shown here as Henry / Harry but the father's name is wrong.
The CWGC detail is below. Other sources confirm his name as Harry with the number S/41688
