I hope I'm not being too hasty in posting this.
THE PEOPLE'S JOURNAL: 01.11.1919
IN MEMORIUM
MEARNS - In affectionate and loving remembrance of our dear sons , Pte. Alexander Mearns, H.L.I., who was killed in France, 18th Nov. 19? (cant make out year photocopy on spine), also Private James, Gordon Highlanders, who was reported wounded and missing on 26th October, 1917, afterwards presumed killed.
They laid down their lives that others might live
- Inserted by their father, mother, and sisters, Redstone, Coupar Angus.
Given the detail I cannot 'see' either of them ! |
