This is located by the side of the old main rd thru the village at the north end by a church, you need to divert off the new rd to Mallaig.
I have a photo somewhere |

Cannot find photo. I dictated the names/inscription into a dictaphone. Can't be that sure of accuracy, names easy enough to read but easy to get the McLellans and McLennans mixed up. Must take more care next time.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the grand niece of Mary McKinnon.
She very kindly e-mailed me the following.

These are great photographs Anne. You can't get better weather for photographing memorials than a sunny early spring day in the Western Highlands.
Kind regards

Yes, glorious weather makes a huge difference.
Mind you, the memorial is almost completely hidden even when the trees surrounding it are bare - dear knows how anyone would find it if they didn't have precise directions!

Great photos Anne.
One name on the WW2 panel caught my eye
DE SYLVA, WILLIAM ALEXANDER.
Rank:Sergeant
Service No:1570879
Date of Death:16/09/1946
Age:21
Regiment/Service:Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve
Grave Reference:3. B. 8.
Cemetery:KARACHI WAR CEMETERY
Additional Information:Son of Elphinstone M. J. de Sylva and Davidina de Sylva, of Arisaig, Inverness-shire.
The father was a really interesting man - an Indian born in Calcutta c.1870, he studied medicine at Edinburgh University and became a GP in Shetland at the turn of the century. He moved to Arisaig in 1913 and "Bill" was born there in 1925.
There is a photo, an obituary and a family history at:
